Metro stations

Metro station advertising offers incomparable visibility in the Finnish capital. Platforms and escalators are a great spot to target consumers at the perfect moment – while they are standing still, with time to spare for your message to sink in.

A total of 56.2 million metro journeys were made in 2007. The majority of travellers were women, but men account for almost a third of passengers too. Like public transport interiors, metro station advertising is excellent at reaching women under the age of 34 in particular and under-25s and students in general.

Out of all the means of transport, the metro in particular is also used by senior white collar workers. Although we generally think only non-car owners use public transport, over a third of metro travellers who answered a recent survey carried out by Helsinki City Transport said that they also had use of a car – so adverts in metro stations are also seen by car owners.¨
